THE AMERICAN BLOCKBUSTER ARRIVES TO CANADA
-The film, directed by Chuck Konzelman tells the real story of Abby Johnson, who was a director of a Planned Parenthood abortion centre and decided to turn her life around telling the atrocities the organization commits.
Canada, April 14th, 2019. The film Unplanned, a blockbuster since its release in the US, last March 29th, will be released in Canada thanks to CitizenGO, the National Campus Life Network, and other pro-life organizations that have joined this cause, promoting the film in that country.
Unplanned reached $ 6 million box office on its opening weekend, breaking all estimates, as reported by Canada's CitizenGO Campaigns Director, David Cooke, who, via an online petition launched last Friday that already gathered almost 10,000 signatures, requests Cineplex to screen the movie in Canada. An initiative CitizenGO is also launching in other countries.
The film, starring Ashley Bratcher ("90 minutes to Heaven", "Vindication"), tells the story of Abby Johnson, former director of a Planned Parenthood abortion centre, and one of the youngest to achieve that post, that supervised or directly participated in numerous abortions.
Abby narrates in her memoirs, that serve as a base for the movie's script, how she was involved in close to 22,000 abortions, but while performing an ultrasound abortion, she realized how the fetus was fully aware and tried to resist being aborted.
"Unplanned is my story and when you see it, you cannot unsee it", says Abby Johnson in the movie's website.
Canada: without a law against abortion
In the North-American nation access to abortion is fully free and it is not regulated, comments Cooke. Thus, he invites all pro-life movements to "talk as one, one movement, one voice, to defend the lives of pre-born children and to let their stories be told. "Unplanned is a transformative tool that will save the lives of Canadian pre-born children. It will guard parents and potential parents from the enormous emotional and physical toll of abortion. We need to show our culture that we care, in order to make this happen”.
